About Me

I'm Kim Hill, designer and owner of CG Essentials. I'm a professional photographer turned stay-at-home-mom of two amazing boys. I'm 41 years old and married to my soul mate of 16 years. We live in New York State where we have a little over 4 acres of beautiful land.

I play the piano, and used to play the marimba, xylophone, kettle drums, and other percussion instruments when I was in school. I love a variety of music and enjoy attending musicals. Most of the time I listen to Indie music.

I first heard about digi-scrapping through a moms group I belong to and made my first layout in November 2004. At that time, I didn't know there were places to purchase pre-made elements, so I taught myself PhotoShop and learned to make them myself. After many long nights of banging my head against the wall, I finally figured it out and have been creating ever since. My entreprenurial husband gave me the push to start selling my creations and I opened CG Essentials on January 6, 2005.
